Ober Gallery specializes in
Contemporary, Russian Non-Conformist, German Neo-Realist, and Reductive
Art.
The Gallery's New York-based artists work in a variety of styles rooted
in the legacy of the New York School, exemplified by the works of
Elaine de Kooning and George McNeil.
The Gallery features a large collection of Russian art, including eight
Non-Conformist artists featured in the Guggenheim Museum show "Russia!"
A planned show on Russian art will include works by Kazimir Malevich.
We represent four German artists including Frank Bauer, an important
student of Gerhard Richter. The Gallery also shows contemporary prints
by Markus Lupertz, A.R. Penck, and Sigmar Polke.
Sixteen Gallery artists are represented in the permanent collections of
the Guggenheim Museum, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Modern
Art, Museum of Fine Arts Houston, Russian Museum, and the Whitney
Museum of American Art.
The Gallery hosts three lectures a year by art historians.
